August 23 to 25th 2019 NNY Ausa will be hosting the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall in Sackets Harbor NY at the Historic Sackets Harbor BattleField.

The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC, will arrive at the Historic Battlefield in Sackets Harbor on Thursday, August 22, 2019.

During the day Friday, August 23, 2019, a team of local volunteers will erect the Wall and construct temporary sidewalks for visitors use during the weekend.
Convocation for the Wall
On Friday, August 23, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. the Sackets Harbor American Legion Post 1757 will perform a Memorial Service as the Opening Ceremony. Following this ceremony, the Wall will be open to the public for viewing and will remain open continuously until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019.

At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24th a ceremony will be conducted honoring those Vietnam War Veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. There will be a reading of local resident’s names listed on the Wall, along with a wreath laying. This ceremony will be supported by the 10th Mountain Division Band.
The Moving Wall is brought to the North Country by the Association of the United States Army, with support from many community sponsors. Through remembrance and education this exhibit and events will honor and respect those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War.
Throughout the weekend, there will be escorts available to assist individuals with locating names of their family, friends and loved ones on the Wall.
